Michael Andrew Black

Michael A. Black, age 67 of Sherwood, Ohio, peacefully passed away surrounded by his loved ones on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at Northcrest  Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Napoleon, Ohio.  
  
He was born in Defiance, Ohio on September 19, 1957 to Michael and Mabel (Baker) Black. Mike enjoyed his job at Bob Evans, fishing, music, and watching football, specially the Dallas Cowboys and Kansas City Chiefs. He loved his family and his cats, Lightning and Rosie. 
  
Mike is survived by his children, Michael J. Black of Defiance, Marianne (Mike) Linnebur of Byers, CO, Rose (Nathanael) Pollock of Archbold, OH, and Andrew Black of Defiance, and his stepchildren, Mandy Brickels of Defiance and Brandon Stiltner of Napoleon, OH. He also leaves behind 16 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and his brother, Wayne (Mary) Black of McClure, OH. 
  
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by stepdaughter Mindy Brickels, stepson Ryan Stiltner, grandsons Michael Linnebur, Samuel Linnebur and Peter Black, and his brother James Black.
  
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 7, 2025 from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm at the funeral home. with Pastor Vince Kroterfield officiating.
