Mary Lou Lane

Mary Lou Lane, age 81 of Ney, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, October 12, 2022 at Brookview Healthcare Center in Defiance.  
  
She was born on July 13, 1941 to the late Merl and Phyllis (Peterson) Brown in Defiance County, Ohio. Several years ago she worked at Metal Forge in Stryker Ohio, and she enjoyed many years as a homemaker. Mary Lou enjoyed going to the Senior Center and Quadco. She treasured her time spent with her family, she loved having visitors and eating ice cream, especially shakes! She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
  
Mary Lou is survived by her son, Todd Lane of Ney, OH, and her siblings; Juanita Dow of Ney, OH, Earl (Mary Jo) Brown of Bryan, OH, Charlene Engel of Defiance, Darlene Pessefall of Bryan, OH, and Bruce Brown of Ney, OH, and several beloved nieces and nephews. 
  
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Paul Brown, her sister, Helen Harr, sister-in-law, Cecelia Brown, and brothers-in-law, Larry B. Engel and Richard Dow.
  
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 17, 2022 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home South, Lawson/Roessner Chapel (1753 S. Clinton St.) in Defiance. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 pm at the funeral home, with Celebrant Deb Miller officiating. Burial will take place at Riverview Memory Gardens.
