Mary Ann (Glore) Call

Mary Ann Call, age 81 of Defiance, peacefully passed away on Saturday, November 29, 2025 at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center surrounded by her loved ones.   
  
She was born in Napoleon, Ohio on December 2, 1943 to the late Ralph and Nellie (Stout) Glore. Mary was a 1961 graduate of Ayersville High School. On April 1, 1961 she married James Call Sr. who resides in Defiance. 
  
She was a life member of both Defiance Eagles #372 Auxiliary and VFW #3360 Auxiliary, and a member of AmVets #1991 Auxiliary. Mary enjoyed playing pool, gambling at the club, cooking, knitting and crocheting. Christmas was her favorite holiday. Mary will always be greatly missed by her family and so many good friends.  
  
Mary is survived by her loving husband James Call Sr. of Defiance, her son, James (Jennifer) Call Jr. of Defiance, four grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and her sister, Sally Armbruster of Napoleon. 
  
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Kathy Mansfield, and sisters, Donelda Pratt and Bonnie Amsbaugh.
  
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2025 from 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home South, Lawson-Roessner Chapel (1753 S. Clinton Street) in Defiance. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, December 5th at the funeral home with Pastor Larry Kennedy officiating. Mary will be laid to rest in Riverview Memory Gardens.
