Mary A. (Meyer) Vogel

Mary A. Vogel of Defiance, peacefully passed away on her 92nd birthday, Saturday, November 9, 2024 at The Laurels of Defiance, surrounded by her loving family.   
  
She was born on November 9, 1932 to the late Harry and Emma (Schroeder) Meyer in Wauseon, Ohio. Mary was a 1950 graduate of Ridgeville High School. On May 16, 1953 she married Glen W. Vogel, who preceded her in death on January 26, 2014. 
  
Mary was a faithful member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. She taught Sunday School and was a member of the Alpha Circle, Service Guild and Altar Guild. Mary enjoyed crocheting and knitting afghans for her family. She was devoted to her husband and children and treasured her time spent with family.
  
Mary will be greatly missed by her children, Gregory (Cheryl) Vogel of Edon, Jane (Dan) Tuttle of Defiance, and Michael (Linda) Vogel of Edgerton, OH, seven grandchildren, Scott (Sara) Vogel, David (Heather) Vogel, Josh (Leah) Vogel, Kerry Tuttle, Kylie (Jason) Crawford, Ashley (Jake) Vogel, Jennifer (Caleb) Torrez, two step-grandchildren Gavin and Colton Maley, nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild on the way.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Glen Vogel, five sisters and two brothers.
  
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 15, 2024 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Defiance. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 16, 2024 at the church, with Rev. David Brobston officiating. Additional visitation will be 9:00 am to 11:00 am  before the service. Mary will be laid to rest at Riverview Memory Gardens.
