Marvin E. Hall, age 86 of Defiance, passed away on Friday, January 21, 2022 at Mercy Defiance Hospital.
He was born on March 17, 1935 to the late Joseph and Cloda (Murphy) Hall in Flippin, Arkansas. On April 27, 1963 he married Cheryl (Thomas) Hall, who survives.
Marvin worked as a High Scaler on the Glen Canyon Dam in Page, Arizona and on the Falcon Dam Project in Roma, Texas. He was a Heavy Equipment Operator for the Santa Fe Railroad in Colorado, New Mexico, Texas and Oklahoma. He went to work for General Motors in Defiance in 1972 and retired in 2007.
Marvin is survived by his loving wife Cheryl, his daughters Lynda (Phil) Lulfs of Ft. Wayne, IN, and Marla (Scott) Bailey of Pickerington, OH, four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and many loving nieces and nephews. Also surviving are his brothers-in-law, Gary (Betty) Thomas of Silver City, New Mexico, Don (JohnAnn) Thomas of Tazewell, Tennessee, and Mark (Connie) Thomas of Commerce City, Colorado, his sisters-in law, Wilma Cox of Jellico, Tennessee, and Donna Thomas (Luke Bernander) and Regina (Russ) Fellows, all of Ft. Collins, Colorado.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Sherilyn Weis, four sisters, two brothers, and his brother and sister-in-law, Doug and Judy Mayes of Defiance.
A private graveside service will be held at Riverside Cemetery in Defiance. Schaffer Funeral Home was honored to assist the family with arrangements.
