Mark Zinser Obituary

Mark O. "Z-Man" Zinser, 59, of Defiance, Ohio, joined his heavenly father after a hard fight for many years. Born on September 20, 1965, in Defiance, Mark remained deeply rooted in the town that shaped him.

He was born to his mother, Janet (Royal) Hofacker of Defiance, and the late Louis Zinser of Defiance. Mark was a hardworking diesel mechanic at Zachrich Trucking in Holgate, Ohio. Mark took great pride in his trade and lived life with heart, humor, and loyalty. He was a true family man-the best father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend anyone could ask for. His kids and grandkids were his pride and joy; he never missed a chance to talk about them or support them. He showed up for every game, every milestone, and every moment he was able to. He loved the simple joys of life: weekends at the lake, building derby cars, a cold drink with friends, and cheering on his favorite teams. Mark enjoyed watching the Florida Gators, Chicago Bears, Detroit Red Wings, and his favorite NASCAR drivers. He was also a fan of a good Western or crime show and could often be found winding down with one after a hard day's work.

Mark was a proud member of the AmVets, VFW, Eagles, and Moose, where he enjoyed great conversation and lifelong friendships.

Mark is survived by his children: Dusten (Ashley) Harris of Grover Hill, Ericka (Matthew) Brown of Grover Hill, and Garrett (Britny) Zinser of Defiance. Mark is also survived by his brothers: Russell (Mary) Zinser of Woodburn and Jeffrey (Cindy) Zinser of Toledo. He was the proud grandfather of: Conner Harris, Carlie Harris, Avah Farris, Wyatt Farris, Paisley Brown, Ryker Harris, Bella Warnimont, Gabriel Brown, Jameson Brown, Lylah Zinser, and Vera Harris. He leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father Louis Zinser, his grandparents Harold (Mary) Lloyd, Lugwig (Helen) Zinser, and his beloved niece, Alysha Zinser.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 12th, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 12:00 p.m. at Schaffer Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Riverview Memory Gardens & Garden Mausoleums.
