Mark Yenser Obituary

Mark A. Yenser, 66, of Defiance went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, surrounded by his family on Sunday, November 4, 2018 at the CHP-Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center in Defiance.  
 
He was born on July 22, 1952, in Defiance, the son of  Gale A. and Mary Jane (Font) Yenser.

On  September 15, 1973, he was married to Terry (Kern) at North Mount Zion Church in Continental, Ohio, who survives.  He was a beloved husband and father who worked at Defiance Powertrain Plant for 43 years, serving as a UAW Local 211 committee man for 27 years.  He was a Little League coach in Auglaize and Head Baseball Coach for Continental High School from 1996 to 2000.  As a member of North Mount Zion church, Mark served as a deacon and a Sunday School teacher.  In 1961, the Lord found him at nine years old, and from that point he lived for Christ daily with the hope that everyone will find the peace he knew.
   
Mark is survived by his wife, six children: Mark (Shanna) of Holgate, Amy of Defiance, Matthew (Jill) of Defiance, Nathan of Continental, Tim of Defiance, and Joel of Continental.  He also leaves behind his grandchildren: Alex, Molly, Hannah and Gracelyn of Holgate; Mackenzie, and Andrew and Morgan of Defiance. Also surviving are three siblings: Patsy (Donald) Link, Steven (Dorothy) Yenser, and Opal Yenser and many beloved nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Gale and Mary Jane Yenser, and a brother, Rolland Goeltzenleuchter.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 8, 2018 beginning at 10:00 am at North Mount Zion Church in Continental, Ohio. A Memorial Service will follow at 12:00 noon, with Pastor Brent Gibson officiating the service.

Schaffer Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.

Memorial contribution may be made to the North Mount Zion Church, CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center, or The James Cancer Center of Columbus, Ohio.
