Margaret "Peg" H. (Gutman) Coressel

Margaret H. "Peg" Coressel, 87, of Defiance, passed away on  February 17, 2019 at Twin Rivers Care Center in Defiance, surrounded by her family.  
 
She was born on October 23, 1931 to the late Bernard and Lucille (Reed) Gutman in Defiance. On August 28, 1954 she married Ralph Coressel, who resides in Defiance.
 
Peg was a faithful member of St. Mary Catholic Church, and VFW #3360 Auxiliary. She worked at Karl's Drive-In, and Ames Department Store.
 
Peg will be sadly missed by her husband of 64 years, Ralph Coressel of Defiance, five daughters; Lucille (Tom) Mealer of Defiance, Beverly (Randy) Martin of Angola, IN, Michelle (Todd) Meyer of Defiance, Marian (Jeff) Brimmer of Angola, IN, and Cheryl (Bill) Schell of Fremont, IN, her son, David (Jeanne) Coressel of Defiance, 17 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, sisters, Dorothy Coressel and Marian Mekus, both of Defiance, and daughter-in-law, Laurie Coressel of Defiance.
 
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Raymond Coressel, brothers, Robert Gutman and Richard Gutman, and sister, Patricia Morgan.
 
Visitation will be held from 2-8 pm on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance, with a Rosary Service at 2:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Friday, February 22, 2019 at St. Mary Catholic Church, with Fr. Randy Giesige officiating. Burial will follow the service at Riverside Cemetery.
 
Memorials are suggested to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, or CHP Hospice.
