Marcia Ellen (Field) Scott

Marcia Ellen (Field) Scott passed away Tuesday, November 26th at St. Vincent's Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio. Marcia was born on January 20th, 1950 in Princeton, IN. After graduating from Haubstadt High School in 1968, she started her nursing career at Welborn Baptist Hospital in Evansville, IN, graduating in 1971.

Marcia married Richard K. Scott in 1973, who preceded her in death in 1996. Marcia worked as a nurse in various nursing positions for 42 years. She especially loved working at Parkview Hospital in the surgical trauma intensive care unit, there she took care of the critically ill and taught new graduate nurses. After retiring from Parkview she accepted a position with Mercy Hospital in Defiance, where she received the Nurse of the Year award in 2012. Marcia's greatest loves in life were her grandchildren, reading, and watching Indiana University football and basketball. Marcia was a "True Hoosier".

Marcia was preceded in death by her husband of 23 years, Richard K. Scott, her parents, Dorothy and Gene Field, sister, Sandra Sue Schmitt, brother, Charles Field, twin brother, Mark Field and grandson, Elliot James Nolan. Surviving family include her daughter and son-in-law, Nicole (Tony) Nolan, dear friend, Ronald Giesige, brother, Jack (Sara) Field, sister-in-law, Brenda Field, grandchildren, Michael, Richard, Kendall, and Brady Nolan, and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Haubstadt, IN at a later date. Schaffer Funeral Home was honored to assist the family with arrangements.
