Louise Gaynell Riley

Louise Gaynell  Riley, age 86, of Defiance, passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at Mercy Defiance Hospital.
  
She was born on April 28, 1937 to Royst and Margaret (Cheek) Sutley in Tampa, FL. On January 20, 1958 she married Clyde Riley and he preceded her in death on October 24, 2014.  Louise worked in the Deli for Chief Supermarket for 17 years. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Defiance. She enjoyed reading the bible and dedicated her life to the Lord. She loved going on walks, eating at Cracker Barrel and taking trips to flower nurseries with her son Jeff. Louise enjoyed traveling to Florida to visit her brother and sister-in-law and traveling to Upper Arlington to visit her grandson. She especially enjoyed going on shopping trips with her granddaughter and attending her grandchildren's sporting events always cheering them on. Louise was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother and will be missed by all her family members and friends.
  
Louise is survived by her sons, Larry (Marie) Riley of Hiawassee, GA, Greg (Sheila) Riley of Hamilton, AL and Jeff Riley of Defiance, her grandchildren, Erin (Steve Layne) Linder and Heather Riley both of Defiance, Justin Riley of Upper Arlington, OH, and Travis Riley of Defiance, 9 great-grandchildren, her sister-in-law, Margaret Sutley of Valrico, FL and her beloved golden retriever, Sadie. 
  
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Clyde, a brother Melvin Stutley and her cat Scruff.
 
A private graveside service for Louise will be held at Riverside Cemetery in Defiance.
