Louise Chafin, 97, formerly of Defiance, passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at Faith Haven Nursing Home in Jackson,Michigan.  
 
She was born on October 17, 1917 to Frank and Nettie (Dooley) Sublett in Thacker, WV. In 1938 she married Morris Chafin, who proceeded her in death.
 
She was a member of 1st Assembly of God Church, Defiance.
 
Louise is survived by her daughters, Helen Hartley of Spring Arbor, Michigan, and Liz Chafin of Defiance, 5 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Nettie Sublett, husband, Morris Chafin, daughters, Sue Jones and Nancy Chafin, brothers, Arthur, John, James, and Orville Sublett, and Cody Clark, sisters, Ocie Whitt, and Virginia Oren.
 
Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 am on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance, where Funeral Services will follow at 11:00 am with Pastor Paul Myers officiating. Burial will take place at Riverview Memory Gardens.
     
The family requests memorials be directed to CHP Hospice Inpatient Center of Defiance, or 1st Assembly of God Church.
