Linda "Lynn" D. (Miller) DeTray

Linda D. "Lynn" DeTray, age 74 of Defiance, passed away peacefully on Friday morning, April 4, 2025 at The Laurels of Defiance.

She was born in Defiance, Ohio to the late Richard and Garnet (McCoy) Miller on February 11, 1951. On June 6, 1987 she married Dennis R. DeTray who preceded her in death on August 28, 2000.

Linda was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and enjoyed her involvement with the Ladies Aide. Her favorite hobbies included knitting, traveling, and spending precious time with her family. She worked at Campbell's Soup Company in Napoleon for several years until her retirement.

Linda is survived by her children, Wayne (Barb) Smith and Wendy Smith, all of Defiance, her bother, Jim McCoy of Continental, and sisters, Jeanne (Don) Hartzell of Hamilton, IN and LaDonna Verfaillie of Paulding. She also leaves behind five grandsons, Dustin Gideon, Damon Smith-Rogers, Brandon Smith, Lakota Mann and Christian Smith, step-grandchildren, Ashley Lalik and Derek Roberts, and her great-grandson Bentley Lalik.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Patricia Ankney.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 - 4:00 pm and 6:00 - 8:00 pm on Monday, April 14th, 2025 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, April 15th at St. John Lutheran Church, with Rev. Kurt Mews officiating. Linda will be laid to rest in Riverside Cemetery.
