Lawrence F. Becher
Lawrence "Larry" Frederick Becher, 82, of Defiance, passed away Monday, February 25th, 2019 at Defiance Regional Hospital.
He was born June 26, 1936, he was the son of the late Marcus and Margaret (Justinger) Becher in Noble Township, Defiance County.
Larry graduated from North Richland Adams (Jewell) High School. He was a member of St. John Catholic Church. He served in the U.S. Army from 1959 - 1961 stationed in Korea.
He worked at Dinner Bell Foods in Archbold for 28 years and Sauder Manufacturing for 12 years. He was a life long farmer and a member of the Farm Bureau and OEFFA.
He loved going to farm auctions especially Yoder & Frey in Archbold and spending time with his nephews and nieces on the farm.
Lawrence is survived by his loving sisters: Mary Batt and Donna (James) Conlon, both of Defiance.
Nephews: Larry Batt, Bryan, Sean and Sam Conlon. Niece Shelli (Batt) Jorkos. Great nephews: Bryse and Dakota Batt, Austin and P.J. Conlon, Joey and Brad Bodenbender. Great nieces: Mackenzie (Batt) Brown, Amber Metz, Samantha Conlon, Kathy Conlon, Cindi Conlon, Molly and Cassidy Conlon. Four great great nieces and six great great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and nephew Patrick Conlon.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 1st, at St. John Catholic Church with Father Eric Mueller officiating.
Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Thursday at the Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home 1753 S. Clinton St. Defiance with a vigil service at 7:00 p.m. Thursday.
Burial will be in Riverview Memory Gardens where VFW Post # 3360 will conduct honorary military graveside rites. Suggested memorials are for masses at St. John Catholic or St. Isidore Catholic Church, Marysdale. Condolences may be shared at www.lawsonroessner.com
