L. Sue (Goble) Bryant

L. Sue Bryant, age 85, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, December 27, 2024 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Turkey Creek, Kentucky on January 29, 1939 to her parents, John and Eva Meade Goble. She attended and graduated from Belfry High School in Belfry, Kentucky. After she graduated she met and married the love of her life, Ivan Bryant in 1956.

Sue was a faithful member of Family Christian Center and loved attending services there. She was loved by all who met her. Sue was a loving and caring homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She loved sewing, taking walks, vegetable and flower gardening, reading, exercising, and attending church. Sue loved spending time with her family, especially during the holidays. Her faith in Jesus got her through many trials she faced. Sue will be sadly missed by her family and many good friends.

Sue is survived by three children, Steve Bryant, Derek Bryant, and Teresa Oehler, all of Defiance, five grandchildren; Dustin (Beth) Bryant, James "Jimmy" Oehler, Joshua Bryant, Chelsey Bryant, all of Defiance, and Breann Oehler of Missouri, and six great-grandchildren; Isabella, Malachi, Gabrial, Sarabell, Ava and Edward. She also leaves behind her siblings, Margie Schomberg of New Port Beach, FL, Margaret Curry of Pikeville, KY, Mary (Charles) Murray of Defiance, Robert (Donna) Goble of Turkey Creek, KY, and Willy (Emma) Goble of Warren, IN. 

She was preceded in death by her parents John and Eva Goble, her loving husband Ivan Bryant, her infant son Jeffrey Michael, grandson Adam Bryant, and two siblings, Barbara and Johnny Goble.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2025 from 2:00-4:00 pm and 6:00-8:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home South, Lawson/Roessner Chapel (1753 S. Clinton Street) in Defiance. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, January 3rd at Schaffer Funeral Home South, with Pastor Tim Tracy officiating. Sue will be laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery.
