Keith A. Hardy, age 96 of Defiance, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, October 16, 2024.
He was born on October 10, 1928 to John and Joey (Busch) Hardy in Bryan, Ohio. Keith was a 1948 graduate of Bryan High School. He proudly served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Munich, Germany from 1948 -1952. On November 2, 1967 he married Janet Dietrich, who survives.
Keith was an active and faithful member of First Church of God. He loved discipling to others, teaching Sunday School and serving as an Elder. Keith worked at General Motors for several years as a supervisor until his retirement in 1980. He was a proud member of American Legion #284 in Bryan. Keith was a joyful guy who had an infectious smile and loved to tell cheesy jokes. The time spent with his family was some of his favorite time.
Keith is survived by his loving wife Janet Hardy of Defiance, and his children, Allen Hardy and Diane (Bruce) Davenport, all of Defiance, Kay (Tim) Eaton of Minot, ND, Chris (Steve) Kissner of New Bavaria, OH, and Russ (Kelly) Hardy of Pierceton, IN. He also leaves behind 26 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and his siblings, Carlton (Evelyn) Hardy of Bryan, OH, Myra Crawford of Lynchburg, VA, and John (Nancy) Hardy of Oracle, AZ.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Edith Brem, and his brother Garwood Hardy.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm at First Church of God in Defiance. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 noon at the church, with Pastor Larry Kennedy officiating. Keith will be laid to rest at Riverview Memory Gardens.
