Judy (Crandall) McGuire

Judy McGuire, 70, of Defiance, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family after a battle with kidney disease at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio on August 16, 2024. She was reunited with her husband after 19 years apart.

Judy was born on September 28, 1953, to the late Joseph and Janice (Carpenter) Crandall. On March 6, 1971, she married the love of her life, Michael R. McGuire, who preceded her in death on April 26, 2005.

Judy was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She faithfully served God and others. For years, she taught Sunday school and lead Bible studies. Judy desired that all would know Jesus Christ as their personal savior. She volunteered with Hospice and R&R. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Left to cherish Judy’s memory are her children, Rita (Timothy) Motter, Michael (Marja) McGurie II, Daniel (Erica) McGuire, Sarah (Ryan) Randall, Andrew (Kami) McGuire, and Molly (Jason Miranda) McGuire; 20 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; her siblings, Joseph Crandall, Jerry Crandall, John Crandall, Jennie LeSure, and Jeanne Doehrman; and many nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 34 years, Michael McGuire and her brothers, Jim, Jack, and Jeff Crandall.

The family will receive friends and family on Thursday, August 22, 2024, from 11:00 am – 1:30 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance, OH. A funeral service will immediately follow beginning at 1:30 pm at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery.
