Obituary

Joyce M. Griggs, age 84 of Paulding, Ohio, peacefully passed away at home with her family by her side on Monday, March 6, 2023.  
  
She was born on September 4, 1938 to the late Clinton and Mildred (Iceman) Shuman in Mansfield, Ohio. In 1982 she married her devoted husband James B. Griggs, who survives. Joyce enjoyed her gardens and flowers, reading books, crafting, cross stitch, and going to car shows with her husband. She loved watching her grandkids play sports and going for car and "buggy" rides with their dog Scooter. Joyce was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
  
Joyce is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, James Griggs of Paulding, and their children; Tom Rhonehouse of Antwerp, Roger (Lisa) Rhonehouse of Paulding, Deborah (Eric) Betts of Hicksville, Dan (Elaine) Rhonehouse of Huntington, MD, Veronica "Rocky" (Jay) Dangler of Paulding, Steve (Mary) Rhonehouse of Fremont, IN, Angie (Bryan) Walker of Hicksville, and Todd Griggs of Antwerp. She also leaves behind 15 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. 
  
A private graveside service will be held at a later date. Schaffer Funeral Home was honored to assist the family with arrangements.
