Joyce A. (Rosenbrook) Eis

Joyce A. Eis, age 83 of Defiance, peacefully passed away at home surrounded by her family on Thursday, October 31, 2024.   

She was the daughter of the late Harold and Dorthy (Wygant) Rosenbrook. Joyce came into this world on August 14, 1941 weighing just two pounds. She was married for 52 years to Don Edward Eis (which Don would say it was two life sentences plus two years!) They met on a blind date where she was originally Don's friend's date. Don passed away on October 8, 2011.

Joyce was a faithful member of Defiance Church of the Nazarene. She was a past Senior Regent at Defiance Moose Lodge #2094 and a member of Eagles #372. She worked for 20 years at Strydel Corporation in Defiance, and at the Meijer Deli for six years. In her leisure time she enjoyed quilting. Joyce was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Joyce is survived by her children, Quentin (Sherri) Eis of Hohenwald, TN, and Donna Baldwin of Defiance. She also leaves behind three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, her sisters, Carol Dewitt and Linda Younce, and brother James Rosenbrook.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Don Eis, her siblings, William Rosenbrook, Patricia Collins and Gerald Rosenbrook, and son-in-law, Gene Baldwin.

A graveside service will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, November 7, 2024 at Evansport Cemetery, with Pastor Carol Retcher officiating.

Schaffer Funeral Home was honored to assist the family with arrangements.
