Josephine Goble

Josephine Goble, age 61 of Defiance, passed away on Sunday, March 16, 2025 at her home.    
  
She was born on April 3, 1963 to the late Jose Salaz and Calletana Briseno Cabrera in Defiance, Ohio. On July 7, 2004 she married John W. Goble, who preceded her in death in 2022. Josephine was a former member of Family Christian Center. She enjoyed cooking, butterflies, the color green, playing Word games, and having a few "cold ones". She was a very loving and caring mother and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Josephine was very funny and had a joke for everything. She will be sadly missed by her family and many good friends.
  
Josephine is survived by her loving children, Kirk Okuly of Montpelier, Florentina Dodson, Austin (Travis Deitler) Dodson, and Jared (Callie Shaw) Dodson, all of Defiance. She also leaves behind her grandson, Kirk Okuly, Jr., stepsons, John Goble of Fayette, Jeff (Vicky) Goble of Defiance, and Jason (Katie) Goble of Hicksville, five step-grandchildren, and her siblings, Leo (Betty) Salaz, Mary Cline, Sally Raya, and Mike Salaz, all of Defiance, Andy Salaz of Holgate, Raul (Angela) Salaz of Florida, Karme Hall and Jayne Hernandez, both of Napoleon, and many nieces and nephews.
  
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Joe Salaz, Pearl Carrisalez, Pedro "Pete" Salaz, a sister at birth, Uncle Nickolas Salaz, and her niece, Victoria Raya.
  
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2025 from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Friday, March 21st at the funeral home, with Rev. Ruben Laguna officiating.
