Jody Lee Kaiser entered the Heavens surrounded by his loved ones after a brief battle with cancer on July 3, 2025. He was 54.
Jody was born to Margaret (Hoeffel) and Donald “Willie” Kaiser on September 26, 1970 in Defiance, Ohio. He had a 40 year career in auto mechanics and stood out from the crowd with his curious and inventive mind. He loved the outdoors, wildlife and had a natural free spirit that inspired those around him. Always friendly with a quirky sense of humor, Jody was one who never met a stranger. Those who knew him would say that he was incredibly kind, a little goofy, would help anyone in need, and always tried to be the peacemaker. A bit of a ‘character’, Jody was also well-known as an ardent Flat Earth proponent.
In addition to his parents, Jody is survived by his children: Brooke (Cody) Kelley of Ney, Jesse Kaiser of Sherwood, Emily (Cameron) Kaiser-King of Defiance, Kiera Kaiser of Defiance, and Ashton Depew of Defiance. He is also survived by his many grandchildren which he adored and spent every free moment with: Amaya Kelley, Kassidy Kelley, Emmett Kaiser, Leo Kaiser, Kaiser King, Anastasia King, Elliana King, Ryker King, Jasper Hoye, Brandtly Depew and Emalynn Depew. Additionally, Jody is survived by his brothers Christopher (Keri) Kaiser and Chad Kaiser, both of Defiance, five nephews, many cousins, and hundreds of friends.
Jody was preceded in death by his daughter, Kyera Lee; a brother, William Joseph; a nephew, Gage Ashton and his grandparents, Leo and Lucille Hoeffel and Herman and Ienz Kaiser.
