Joan M. (Breckler) Schriner

Joan M. Schriner, age 95 of Ridgeville Corners, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2024 at The Laurels of Defiance.   
  
She was born on June 11, 1929 to the late Louis and Margaret (Mock) Breckler in Defiance County. On March 2, 1957 she married Cornelius "Neal" Schriner who preceded her in death on June 2, 2008. 
  
Joan was a faithful member of St. Michael's Ridge Catholic Church, where she was active in the Altar Rosary Society. She was a life member of Defiance VFW #3360 Auxiliary. Joan was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed reading books, embroidering, flowers and gardening. She helped on the family farm all her life and supported her family as a homemaker.  She will be deeply missed by her family. 
  
Joan is survived by her sons, Michael (Mary) Schriner of Archbold and Timothy Schriner of Napoleon, four grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, daughter-in-law Julie Schriner, and sisters-in-law Mary Lou Schriner and Theresa Schriner. 
  
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son Thomas Schriner, infant son Steven Schriner, and her brother Don (Betty) Breckler.
  
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 9, 2024 from 10:00 to 11:00 am at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Defiance. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11:00 am, with Fr. Melwin D'Souza officiating. Joan will be laid to rest at St. Michaels Catholic Cemetery.
