Jenni Lynn (Porter) Ellis

Jenni Lynn Ellis, 63, of Englewood, Florida, formerly of Defiance, passed away on Sunday, September 10, 2023 at her home in Englewood, FL.  
  
She was born on December 20, 1959 to Melvin and Barbara (Tobias) Porter in Defiance, Ohio. Jenni was a 1978 graduate of Ayersville High School. On April 14, 1991 she married Thomas Ellis, who survives.

Jenni was a former member of Ayersville United Methodist Church and First Baptist Church in Defiance. She was very active with the Fort Defiance Players for over 20 years. Jenni was an avid volleyball player in her younger years. She worked as a manager at The Snippery and at JC Penney Salon in Defiance. After she moved to Florida she enjoyed volunteering at Lemon Bay High School in Englewood as a volleyball score keeper and table operator. Jenni really enjoyed the last twelve years living in Florida with Tom. She was a very loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
  
Jenni is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, Thomas Ellis of Englewood, FL, three sons, Tim Ellis, Todd Ellis and Dustin Ellis, and two daughters, Julie Krueger and Bobbi Sue Ellis. She also leaves behind ten grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, her brothers, Michael Porter of Oakwood, OH and Steven Porter of Delta, OH, and her sister, Jeanine Caryer of Defiance. 
  
She was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Barbara Porter.
  
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 from 12:00 to 2:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A funeral service to celebrate her life will follow at 2:00 pm at the funeral home, with Celebrant Deb Miller officiating. Burial will take place at Ayersville Cemetery.
