Jeffrey Scott Deming, 63, of Napoleon, entered heaven to meet Jesus on August 12, 2022 from The Laurel's of Defiance. He was able to greet his daughter there on her birthday.
He was born on December 13, 1958 to Arthur and Emma (Miler) Deming in Defiance, Ohio. On September 23, 1983, he married Jane Sobota. Jeff worked as a machine operator and in Quality Control for Arp's Dairy for 43 years, retiring June 30, 2022.
Jeff was an artist. He loved to paint, write poetry, sing, and play guitar. He designed the logo for the Arp's Dairy Trucks and had articles published in "Country Living" magazine, as well as having his own blog: http://mangodspeak.blogspot.com/?m=1. Jeff loved challenging himself with the Crescent-News crossword puzzles without cheating. His favorite color was orange so to say he loved sunsets was an understatement. One of his favorite activities was mowing a perfect lawn. Jeff loved the Word of God, worship, and was a man of daily prayer.
Jeff is survived by his loving wife, Jane; daughters Mary (Stephen) Duncan of Forrest City, Iowa, Heather (Phil) Mitchell of Columbus, Ohio and Megan Janae Deming of Port Clinton, Ohio. Also left behind to treasure his memory are his grandchildren, Charlie Rachelle, Ryman Alexander, Owen Scott, and Levi James. Jeff is also survived by his brother, Keith (Lori) Deming of Paulding, Ohio, his sisters, Kim (Richard) Weidenhamer, Cindy (Tim) Sanders and Angela (Ron) Kline, all of Defiance.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Laura R Deming; and two brothers, George and Arthur Todd Deming.
Visitation will be held Friday, August 19, 2022, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at Schaffer Funeral Home, Inc., Defiance, Ohio. A Memorial service will follow at 11:00 am at the funeral home with Pastor Larry Kennedy, officiating. The family encourages those attending to dress casually. A meal will be provided immediately after the burial at St. John Lutheran School.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate you to consider donating to The Worship Coalition. Jeff and his family found great healing during this season through their worship songs. To give, visit: www.theworshipcoalition.org/give. Memorials are also suggested to the Heartland Hospice. They have been a great help and source of peace for the family. If interested there will be an opportunity to provide a meal or groceries for Jane over the next several weeks.
