Jean Ann (Hillstrom) Boyd

Jean Ann Boyd, 82, of Defiance, passed away on Thursday, March 8, 2018 at Brookview Healthcare Center in Defiance.   
  
She was born on May 20, 1935 to Martin and Lois (Carlson) Hillstrom, who was originally from Sweden. Jean moved to Defiance her freshman year of high school and graduated in the class of 1953 from Defiance High School. On June 6, 1953 she married William N. Boyd, who resides in Defiance.

Jean Ann was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. She was a Realtor and Broker, started her career with Edith Belden, then she owned and operated McKeen Realty in Defiance. She was a member of N.W. Ohio Realtors Association for over 28 years. Jean Ann will be greatly missed by her family, and by many good friends.

Jean Ann is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, William Boyd of Defiance, daughter, Deborah (Michael) Shockey of Mears, MI, sons, Brian (Marsha) Boyd of Defiance, and Gerald (Gail) Boyd of Albuquerque, NM, five grandchildren; Stephanie Jean (Todd) Demar of Defiance, Stacie Ruth (John) Whetstone of Ft. Wayne, IN, Taylor (Amber) Boyd, and Megan (Steven) Christerson, all of Albuquerque, NM, and Nathan Boyd of Defiance, two great-grandchildren; Alex Michael Whetstone of Ft. Wayne, IN, and Oakely Jean Demar of Defiance. Also surviving is her brother, David (Bonnie) Hillstrom of Marion, OH, sister-in-law, Shirley (Murel) Lloyd of Defiance, and brother-in-law, Casey Clausen of Michigan. 
  
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Mary Clausen.
  
All services will be private. Schaffer Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
