Janet Y. Long

Janet Y. Long, age 49, of Defiance, passed away on Friday, February 7, 2025 at ProMedica Toledo Hospital.   
  
She was born in San Antonio, Texas on August 14, 1975 to Pamela (Walter) and Ted Kemper Sr. On February 14, 2003 she married John Long Jr. who survives. Janet loved to travel. She loved being a mother to her sons and was very proud of their accomplishments.
  
Janet is survived by her loving husband John Long, Jr. of Defiance, her parents, Ted Kemper Sr. of Canyon Lake, TX and Pamela Wozniak of Austin, TX, sons Shane R. Long of Defiance and Hayden J. Pack of Charleston, WV, her brother, Ted Kemper II of Austin, TX, mother-in-law Cindy Long of Defiance, and her beloved cat "May".   
  
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Thomas and Mildred O'Steen, father-in-law, John Long, Sr., mother-in-law Dawn Paulkner, grandparents-in-law, Richard "Dick" Lichty and Betty Jean Lichty-Harrison, and her cat "Macy".
  
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date. Schaffer Funeral Home was honored to assist the family with arrangements.
