Janet R. Hardy, 92, of Defiance, OH, entered into the Kingdom of Heaven peacefully at Hospice in the early hours of April 4, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on November 18, 1932, in Windber, PA to James C. Dietrich (Windber, PA) and Jane Hopkins (England). Janet was a 1950 graduate of Richland Township High School (Johnstown, PA). She continued her educational pursuit at the Mercy Hospital School of Nursing (Johnstown, PA), where she received her Registered Nursing License in 1953. Not slowing down, Janet then proceeded to graduate from the Allentown Sacred Heart Hospital School of Anesthesia (Allentown, PA) in 1954.
On November 2, 1967, Janet married Keith Hardy, who preceded her in death.
Janet was a proud and active member of the First Church of God (Defiance, OH) for over 47 years. She had a servant's heart and was the first to provide a meal for families at the church, minister to children in Sunday School, and was a devoted Elder's wife during Keith's service as an elder. Janet was best known for being a prayer warrior and lovingly guiding her family in their walks with Christ.
Janet is survived by her children, Allen Hardy and Diane (Bruce) Davenport, all of Defiance, Kay (Tim) Eaton of Minot, ND, Chris (Steve) Kissner of New Bavaria, OH, and Russell (Kelly) Hardy of Pierceton, IN.
