Jane E. Minsel

Jane E. (Tuohy) Minsel, age 88, of Defiance, passed away on  November 27, 2025 at Mercy Defiance Hospital. 
  
She was born on April 17, 1937 to John and Maude (Clemens) Tuohy in Defiance County, OH. She was a 1955 graduate of Defiance High School. Jane worked as a secretary for Arthur Law Firm for over 40 years. On October 19, 1957 she married John Minsel and he preceded her in death on July 10, 2020. Jane was a member of St. John Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening, crafting, making Christmas cookies and spending time at their cottage on the lake during the summer. She enjoyed life and especially being a mother. She will be missed by all her family members and friends.
  
 Jane  is survived by her son, Michael Minsel, of Defiance, brother, Al (Linda) Tuohy, of Defiance, sisters, Patricia (Bill) Michael of Ney and Rita (George) Westrick of Defiance, sister-in-law, Rita Tuohy of Rossford, OH and many nieces and nephews.
  
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, son, Patrick John "P.J." Minsel, brother, John E. Tuohy, father-in-law, Edmond Minsel and mother-in-law, Iola Minsel.
  
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home South - Lawson Roessner Chapel, 1753 South Clinton Street, Defiance with a rosary service to be held at 4:00 pm. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2025 at 11:00 am at St. John Catholic Church. 
  
Burial will take place at Riverview Memory Gardens.
