While surrounded by his family, James ‘Jamey’ Brian Ball was welcomed into the loving arms of his Savior on the evening of Friday, December 13, 2024.
Born on December 31, 1959, in Lima, Ohio, Jamey spent his early years in Spencerville and Continental, where he discovered his love for horses and the joys of country life. During high school, he uncovered his passion for music and taught himself to play the guitar. Jamey enjoyed participating in high school musicals and showcased his talents as an integral part of New Life Singers.
He found his calling in working with his hands at Whistler Tile and Stone as a CNC Operator. In his leisure time, Jamey enjoyed fishing, particularly fly fishing, which he mastered while living in the serene landscapes of Montana. His faith in Christ was a cornerstone of his life, expressed beautifully through music as he played in the Praise and Worship Band of his church.
He is survived by his siblings John (Laurie) Ball, Spencerville; Robin (Gregg) Sigler, Defiance; Jonna Boggs, New Bavaria; Julie (Michael) Valerio, Continental; Michael Boggs, Tennessee; and Sandi Boggs Cole, Oklahoma. His children Angela Roehrig, Defiance; Jennifer Brooks, Ft Wayne; and Sara (Rozco) Orozco, Defiance. His grandchildren Ella, Natalie, Laura Brooks, Ft Wayne; and Ziggy Orozco, Defiance. Also survived is Amy Crowell (wife for 29 years),Defiance.
Jamey was preceded in death by Harold Ball (Father), Donna Boggs (Mother), John Boggs (Stepfather), and Anthony ‘Tony’ Ball (Brother).
Jamey’s life was a testament to his great faith, and he will be remembered for his love of laughter, music, and nature. His gentle spirit and warm presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Services for Jamey will be held at Schaffer Funeral Home on Jefferson on December 23, 2024, with visitation beginning at 11:00am and a memorial service at 1:00pm.
