James Michael Wagner, age 44 of Defiance, passed away from injuries sustained in an automobile accident on Friday, September 6, 2024 in Henry County, Ohio.
He was born on December 4, 1979 to Michael and Deborah (Hively) Wagner in Fremont, Ohio. James proudly earned his Masters Degree from Bluffton College and was on the football team. On January 1, 2018 he married Amanda Foss, who survives.
James worked for Snyder's Auto Sales in Napoleon. He was an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes and Cleveland Browns. He loved riding his Harley, boating, and being on the water. James was known for his giant personality and was loved by everyone around him. He was full of life and never met a stranger. James was a devoted son, husband, and father. He will be greatly missed by his family and many good friends.
James is survived by his father, Michael (Brenda) Wagner of Oak Harbor, OH, his loving wife Amanda Wagner of Defiance, his children, Lillian (Jaden Brubaker) Wagner of Napoleon and Elliott Wagner of Wauseon, his stepdaughter Mattea (Devin McKelvey) Puente of Warren, MI, and many other extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Deborah Thompson, and stepfather, Shawn Thompson.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 12, 2024 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 13th at 11:00 am at the funeral home.
