Jack L. Wurster

Jack L. Wurster, age 88 of Defiance, peacefully passed away surrounded by his loved ones on Monday, December 16, 2024.  
  
He was born in Celina, Ohio on January 11, 1936 to the late Floyd and Nina (Sprague) Wurster. On June 25, 1955 he married Sandy (Packer) Wurster, who preceded him in death on April 9, 2022. 
  
Jack was a faithful member of First Church of God in Defiance. He worked for over 36 years at General Motors until his retirement and was a member of UAW Local #211. In his leisure time he enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing. He was a huge fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes, Toledo Mud Hens and Chicago Bears. Jack will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
  
Jack is survived by his children, Todd Wurster, Steven (Lisa) Wurster and Geraldine (Jim) Dodson, 33 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren, and daughters-in-law, Kim Wurster and Pamela Wurster. 
  
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Sandy, daughter, Margaret Orta, and sons Brent and Matthew Wurster.
  
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 22, 2024 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm at the funeral home, with Pastor Larry Kennedy officiating.
