Ismael Rodriguez

Ismael Rodriguez, age 86 of Defiance, passed away on Sunday, June 1, 2025 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio, surrounded by his loved ones.   
  
He was born in San Sebastian, Puerto Rico on March 20, 1939 to Manuel and Mercedes (Arce) Rodriguez. On November 14, 1964 he married Olga Perez who survives. 

Ismael worked at General Motors for over 25 years until his retirement. He faithfully attended Bethel Worship Center in Defiance and loved talking about the Lord, his Savior. Being with his family and family gatherings were very important to him. Ismael was a an old cars enthusiast and he loved '55 Chevys and attending car shows. Ismael never met a stranger and will be greatly missed by his family and many good friends. 
  
Ismael is survived by his loving wife Olga Rodriguez of Defiance, his children, Tony Rodriguez, Fredie (Jodi) Rodriguez, Evelyn (Bill) Hughes and Alan (Shelly) Rodriguez. Ismael and Olga were blessed with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 
  
He was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Mercedes Rodriguez.
  
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm at the funeral home with Pastors Juan Perez, Jay Perez and Rosa Perez officiating.
