Helen L. Webb

Helen L. Webb, 85, of Defiance, passed away on Monday, September 19, 2022 surrounded by her family.   
  
Born May 14, 1937 in Ohio City, Ohio, Helen was the daughter of the late Ernest and Osie (Brown) Walls. In 1956 Helen married Donald Keber, who preceded her in death in 1987. In 1997 she married Olen (Jim) Webb, who preceded her in death in 2013. 

Helen was a 1955 graduate of Ohio City Liberty High School. She was a member of St. Michael's Ridge Catholic Church and served on the parish's Altar & Rosary Society and as a religious education instructor. Helen was a charter member of the North Richland Homemakers, a group she remained active in until her death. She volunteered for Hospice the Caring Way of Defiance Auxiliary, and spent 10 years as a receptionist for the Catholic Charities of Defiance.
  
Helen was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her happiest times were spent with her family and friends.
  
Helen is survived by four sons: Joseph Keber of Napoleon, David (Kimberly) Keber of Defiance, John (Billie) Keber of Marysville, and Douglas (Kristin) Keber of Defiance. Helen also leaves behind three daughters: Sandra (Dale) Wynkoop of Dublin, Carolyn (Felix) Rosario of Upper Sandusky, and Susan (Philip) Spieth of Liberty Center.

She is the proud grandmother of grandchildren Lydia (Jim) Waterwash; Reid, Leslie, and Dana Wynkoop; Tiffany (Jordan) Howard; Erika, Breanna, and Alexander Rosario; Megan (Andrew) Schwab; James (Amber) Spieth; Adam Spieth; Katherine and Kevin Keber; Madison Hostettler, Lilianna, Delaney, and Amelia Keber; and Claire and Ella Keber. Helen also leaves behind six great-grandchildren: Huxley and Brier Howard, Emmett and Molly Schwab, Hailey Waterwash, and Maxton Spieth.

Surviving are sisters Barbara Merkle of Columbus, Janet Merkle of Van Wert, and brother Marvin (Jill) Walls of Ottawa.

Helen is also preceded in death by her son, Robert Andrew, and her granddaughter, Victoria Towns.
  
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 25, 2022 from 2:00 to 6:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A Mass to celebrate Helen's life will be held on Monday, September 26, 2022 at 11:00 am at St. Michael's Catholic Church, with Fr. Melwin Dsouza officiating. Burial will follow the service at Riverview Memory Gardens.
