Harold Raub Obituary

Harold “Gene” Eugene Raub, age 60, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 24th, 2026, in his Defiance home. He was surrounded by his beloved family and pets while lying comfortably in his own bed.

Harold was born in Zanesville, Ohio on January 12th, 1966, to Harold "Butch" Edwin Raub and Betty Watson. He was a 1984 graduate from Bryan High school. He served 11 years in the US Air Force operating in both Desert Storm and Desert Shield. Harold spent the remaining years of his health servicing at-risk teens in multiple facilities across the country. 
Harold is survived by his wife, Cher McCormick Raub whom he married on June 5th 2006; his father and stepmother, Butch and Cindy Raub; his sister, Becky Raub; his 5 children, Johnathan (Brianna) Albritton, Cassandra Eck, Ethan (Kelli) Albritton, Evan Raub, and Ahnna Albritton; his 7 grandchildren, Alex, Lane, Archer, Anna, Charlee, Maevis, and Oaklyn; his 2 nephews, Trae and Kamron Raub; his niece, Hayley Trowbridge; along with 3 grand-nieces; 2 grand-nephews and an endless list of loving friends. 
Harold was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Watson.

Harold Eugene Raub will be celebrated on Saturday, February 28th with visitation from11:00 am - 1:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance, OH. A funeral service will immediately follow at 1:00 pm. Military Honors will be conducted by VFW Post #3360. Fellowship Dinner to follow at Rock Church, 20763 State Route 637, Oakwood, OH.
