Gregory L. "Bru" Brubaker, 77, of Defiance, peacefully passed away on Monday, February 20, 2023 with his family by his side at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center.
He was born on October 5, 1945 to the late Virgil and Irene (Zwifelhofer) Brubaker in Napoleon, Ohio. Greg proudly served our country as a Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force from 1965-1968. He worked for many years at General Motors until his retirement. He was a member of Defiance Eagles #372, AmVets #1991, and Moose Lodge #2094. He was a huge fan of the Dallas Cowboys and liked trucks and road trips with his friends. Greg had a great sense of humor and loved spending time with his family. His girls are so very proud of his good fight till the end.
Greg is survived by his daughters, Stacey (Todd) Schlosser and Wendy (Tony) Norden, all of Defiance, five grandchildren; Joseph (Abbey) Schlosser, Rebecca Schlosser, Tye Norden, Tristen Norden and Tegan Norden, one great-grandson Greyson Schlosser, and one on the way, Hudson Schlosser, his sister, Pam Clark of Bryan, OH, and his brother, Brad Brubaker of Defiance.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his life partner, Annie Herder.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 24, 2023 from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm at the funeral home, with Pastor Aaron Hopson officiating. Burial will follow the service at Riverside Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to CHP Defiance Hospice, or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
