Garry E. Carroll

Garry E. Carroll, age 71 of Defiance, passed away on Tuesday evening, August 12, 2025.

He was born in Fedscreek, Kentucky on February 21, 1954 to Dallas and Pearl (Taylor) Carroll. Garry was a 1973 graduate of Ayersville High School. On October 8, 1977 he married Carol Jude who preceded him in death in 2004.

Garry had a very strong Christian faith and attended Defiance Christian Church and Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. He enjoyed reading his Bible and assisting the kids at Vacation Bible School. He enjoyed woodworking, watching WWE wrestling and having his family around. Garry will be sadly missed by his family and many good friends.

Garry is survived by his loving mother, Pearl Carroll of Defiance, his brothers Randy (Cindy) Carroll of Clarkston, Michigan and Tim (Karen) Carroll of Defiance, his sister-in-law Laura Bevins of Defiance, and many cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his dad, Dallas G. Carroll, wife, Carol A. Carroll, brother-in-law, Leon Bevins, and several aunts and uncles.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Mike Hasselbring officiating. Garry will be laid to rest in Rochester Cemetery in Cecil, Ohio.
