Frank E. Tressler Sr.

Frank E. Tressler Sr., age 81 of Defiance, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 20, 2026 at Canal Pointe Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Akron, Ohio.   
  
He was born on May 31, 1944 to the late Clarence and Grace (Woodruff) Tressler in Findlay, Ohio. On July 21, 1967 he married Barbara Goble who preceded him in death on April 4, 2021.

He worked at General Motors for 37 years until his retirement in 2005. Frank was a kind and caring father and grandfather. He truly loved to see people taking care of one another. Frank enjoyed helping others, going on walks, and spending time with his family.

Frank is survived by his sons, Frank E. (Wende) Tressler Jr., Michael (Robyn) Tressler, and Robert (Annette) Tressler, all of Defiance. He also leaves behind eight grandchildren; Kylee (Simon) Miller, Ashlee (Logan) Sanderson, Mikayla Tressler, Riley Tressler, Dylan Tressler, Ethan Tressler, Bryce Tressler and Laryssa Tressler, one great-granddaughter, Audra Miller, his sister, Rebecca (Daniel Bernard) Tressler of Woodbire, GA, and his brother, Larry (Diana) Tressler of Ney, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Ruth Stallhood and Lulu Belle Herr, and his brothers, Melvin, Junior, Richard, Russell and Leonard Tressler.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 2, 2026 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance, Ohio. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 am at the funeral home, with Celebrant Deb Miller officiating. Frank will be laid to rest in Myers Cemetery.
