Evelyn Sue Boesling, age 74 of Defiance, peacefully passed away on Wednesday morning, August 23, 2023 at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center, surrounded by her family.
She was born on December 17, 1948 to the late Ernest and Grace Myers in Defiance, Ohio. Evelyn was a 1966 graduate of Defiance High School and earned her Associate's Degree from the International Business College in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. On November 23, 1968 she married John W. Boesling, who survives.
Evelyn was a faithful member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Defiance and maintained an active role in parish ministries. She enjoyed her involvement and memberships with the Beta Circle and Service Guild. She was employed at SK Wayne as a shipping and receiving clerk from 1968 to 1976. In recent years she helped in the administration of the DHS Class of '66 website. Evelyn was a devoted daughter, wife and mother, and never stopped being involved with her children's lives. She was happiest cooking in the kitchen and spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed her flower gardens. She will be greatly missed by her family and many good friends.
Evelyn is survived by her loving husband, John W. Boesling of Defiance, her daughter, Minda (Mikey) Hohl of Indianapolis, IN, her son, Kirk Boesling of Defiance, brother-in-law Thomas (Sue Ann) Boesling of Defiance, and her brother, David Myers.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her good friend, Sue Reed.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 28, 2023 from 9:00 to 11:00 am at St. Paul Lutheran Church. A funeral service to celebrate her life will follow at 11:00 am at the church, with Rev. Dave Brobston and Rev. Keith Hunsinger officiating. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery.
