Emily Marie Druhot, age 48 of Leesville, Louisiana, entered the gates of heaven on Monday, May 5, 2025. She is the beloved daughter of Lori (Druhot) Frederick and Tom Frederick. She was born in Defiance, Ohio on September 9, 1976.
Emily was a graduate of Defiance High School and a member of the Defiance High School Marching Band of Class. Emily enjoyed dancing from the age of 6 until graduation. She loved tap, jazz and ballet. She also loved to paint from her teenage years through her adult life. Emily attended Kent State University, Northwest State Community College, and Defiance College. In 2006 she received her Master's Degree in Social Work from the University of Cincinnati.
Emily worked in Cincinnati in the Criminal Justice System for six years. In 2012 she accepted a job at Fort Johnson in Leesville, Louisiana as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, where she touched the lives of so many members of the military and their families. She had a great gift of compassion, support and encouragement for everyone that walked in her office. Her dedication and commitment to her work showed in every detail. She will be sadly missed by her work family; they had become more meaningful to her each year.
She was the most creative individual, the many cards and scrapbooks made by her were always a treasure. She enjoyed scrap booking with her Mom, Aunts and cousins and many friends. She traveled on week-long scrap booking conventions with her Mom, and planned weekends of fun to enjoy, creating lasting memories for all of us. She also enjoyed Disney movies, Hallmark Channel, and was an avid reader.
Emily leaves behind loving parents, Tom and Lori Frederick, two brothers Nathan (Melanie) Frederick and Gabe (Belle) Frederick, three nieces; Mikenna Frederick, Allie Frederick and Elowyn Frederick, two nephews; Sam Frederick and Holden Frederick, her Aunts and Uncles, Rita and Steve Frederick, Bernie and Alan Heilshorn, Jane Druhot (Roger Shawley) Amanda and Rodney Robins, Jennifer and Randy Teder, and Jimmy Frederick, grandparents Lynda Proch, Ted Walk and Lynda Frederick, many, many cousins, and her ride or die best friend and sister Nicole (Huebner) Lobdell.
She was preceded in death by several Aunts and Uncles, her grandparents, Walt Proch, Carolyn Walk, Kenny Frederick, and Edith and Clarence "Grandpa Cookie" Druhot. Emily was the apple of his eye.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2025 from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, May 23rd at St. Mary Catholic Church, with Fr. David Cirata officiating. Emily will be laid to rest in Riverside Cemetery.
