Elvira Pryor Obituary

Elvira “Elle” Naomi Pryor (née Jimenez), 79, of Defiance, Ohio, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2026.
Elle was born on July 1st, 1946 in Bryan, Ohio, to Antonio Jimenez and Mercedes Jimenez, who preceded her in death. She was a proud graduate of Bryan High School and later attended the University of Toledo. She spent much of her life in Defiance, Ohio, where she built a life centered around family, community, and adventure.
In December of 1985, she married the love of her life, Steven Pryor, with whom she shared many happy years of marriage.
Elle was known for her adventurous spirit and love of life. She was a world traveler who loved the sunshine and the beach. A proud “Parrot Head,” she was a devoted fan of Jimmy Buffett and also loved the music of Carole King. Those who knew her often described her as being like a butterfly - a free spirit who was never afraid to face life head-on.
She retired from Tenneco in Napoleon, Ohio, and was an active member of the Defiance Eagles, AMVETS, UAW Local 211 Associate, Region 2B CAP Platinum Club and the Moose Lodge. She also proudly volunteered with the Defiance County Democratic Party, always staying engaged with her community and the causes she believed in.
Above all else, Elle cherished her family. She is survived by her husband Steven Pryor; and her daughters Cindy Navarette (James Navarette), Julie Flores, Erica McGee, and Jackie Shelby (Jermaine Shelby deceased).
She was a proud grandmother to Nastasha Truesdale (James Truesdale), Griffin Navarette (Shenae Navarette), Kelsey Rivera (Michael Rivera), Brianna Navarette, Justin Flores (Marilyn Flores), Anyssia Flores (Arik Wenzel), Jasmine Pryor, Daebreona McGee, Douglas McGee, Trinity Shelby, and Jermaine Shelby Jr.
Her legacy continues through her beloved great-grandchildren Liam Truesdale, James Truesdale, Hadley Truesdale, Wesley Truesdale, Xiamara Navarette, Evelyn Rivera, Rory Rivera, Elijah Flores, Caio Flores and AJ Wenzel.
Elle will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, her love of music and travel, and the joy she brought to the lives of those around her. Her warmth, laughter, and fearless spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
