Elsie Marie Rozevink

Elsie M. Rozevink, age 93 of Standley, Ohio, passed away on  Monday, March 3, 2025 at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center. 

She was born in a log house west of Standley, OH on June 24, 1931 to Jacob and Sarah (Wagner) Rozevink. The family moved to Standley in September, 1932 where she has lived for 93 years.  

Elsie was a faithful member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Florida, Ohio. She spent her life working in tomato and sugar beet fields, worked for over 12 years at Kircher's Greenhouse in Defiance, and for 33 years at SK Hand Tool until her retirement in 1997. In her leisure time she enjoyed puzzles, being outdoors, gardening and maintaining her property.

She is survived by her daughter Holly (Alan) Koontz of Holgate, grandson Dylan (Annie) Poston of Defiance, and her great-grandsons Brody Poston and Cayne Poston.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter Molly Rebecca Rozevink at infancy, grandson Joshua Poston, sister Marcella Gerschutz, and brother Clarence Rozevink. 
  
Visitation will be held from 9:00 am to 11:00 am on Monday, March 10, 2025 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 am at the funeral home with Rev. Jacob Stuenkel officiating. Elsie will be laid to rest in North Mount Zion Cemetery.
