Douglas A. Beardsley

Douglas A. Beardsley, age 74 of Defiance, passed away on Sunday, June 29, 2025 at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center.  
  
He was born on October 16, 1950 to Earl and Betty (Curtzwiler) Beardsley in Holgate, Ohio. Douglas proudly served his country in the US Navy. He worked for several years at General Motors until his retirement. On February 10, 1973 he married Janet "Priss" D'Angleo who survives.
  
Doug was a member of the Defiance UAW #211. He loved music, especially classic rock.  He also loved the outdoors and enjoyed backpacking, camping and traveling. In his spare time he went fishing, hunting, rode motorcycles and enjoyed shooting pool. He also did leatherworking and reloaded ammo.
  
Douglas is survived by his loving spouse, Janet "Priss" D'Angelo Beardsley; his children, Jeffrey (Amy) Beardsley of Cumberland, MD, Rachael Beardsley of Defiance, and Marc Beardsley of Toledo. He also leaves behind his precious grandchildren that he was intensely proud of, Diamond Beardsley, Jess Beardsley, and Corrin Beardsley. He is also survived by his siblings, Walter (Linda) Beardsley of Defiance, Belinda Ott of Lampassas, TX, Becky (Chuck) Campbell of Defiance, OH, Laura Hart of Lampassas, TX, and Earla (Kevin) Gallant of Defiance. 
  
He was preceded in death by his parents.
  
Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 8, 2025 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A memorial service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at 11:00 am with Walter Beardsley officiating.
