Donald J. Lichty

With a heavy heart we mourn the passing of Don Lichty. Don was born April 24, 1950 in Defiance to E. Ward and Joyce (King) Lichty. He graduated from Defiance High School in 1968. He married his high school sweetheart, Dwyn May and this year celebrated their 55th anniversary. Don worked at Defiance Truck Sales and Service, retiring from there after 46 years. He enjoyed drag racing (his own car), hunting, bowling, snowmobiling (in Michigans UP), cutting and splitting wood, (which kept him in shape!).

He leaves behind his wife Dwyn Lichty, a brother Dennis (Vickie), and sister Ellen (Allen) Upp, all of Defiance; brother-in-law Dick (Jane) May, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Dave.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2024 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home South, Lawson/Roessner Chapel (1753 S. Clinton Street) in Defiance. A Memorial Service will follow at 4:00 pm at the funeral home, with Pastor Larry Kennedy officiating.
