Doll K. (Grant) Nihiser

Doll K. Nihiser, age 79 of Defiance, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center.   
  
She was born on November 14, 1942 to the late Earl and Cora (Demland) Grant in Defiance County, Ohio. Doll was a 1960 graduate of Fairview High School. On October 21, 1983 she married Richard E. "Slim" Nihiser, who preceded her in death on May 22, 2021. 
  
Doll worked for several years at Tenneco in Napoleon, Ohio until her retirement. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and baking. Doll was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She treasured her time spent with her family.
  
Doll will be sadly missed by her children; Tonia (Mike) Sabo of Defiance, Andrew (Tammy) Doan, Jr. of Defiance, Jean (Jeff) Kretz of Defiance, Wade (Darlene) Doan of Bryan, OH, and Danielle (Brent) Hunter of Cloverdale, OH, step-children; Kathy Martie, Mike (Mary) Nihiser, Ronnie (Brenda) Nihiser, and Pamela (Chad) Parker, all of Defiance, 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, her sisters, Betty Zeller of Dayton, OH and Connie Engler of Bryan, OH, and several nieces and nephews. 
  
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Nihiser, her sisters; Beverly Miller, Virginia Coressel and Burnadette Grime, and her brothers; William, Wayne, Charles, James, Lowell, Allen, Thomas, David, Jay and Darl Grant.
  
Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 8:00 pm on Monday, August 15, 2022 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A funeral service to celebrate her life will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at Schaffer Funeral Home, with Celebrant Deb Miller officiating. Burial will follow the service at Evansport Cemetery.
