Dolene A. Keeterle, 91, of Bryan, passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at Parkview Regional Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
She was born in Defiance County, Ohio on December 23, 1933, to the late Roy and Evadna (Grant) Limbaugh. Dolene was a 1952 graduate of Sherwood-Delaware High School where she was a cheerleader and majorette. She loved horses and was a talented trick rider and did Rodeo competitions.
Dolene worked for several years as a Treasurer and Union Secretary for Aro Corp. in Bryan, Ohio. She was a member of the "Red Hats" and "Cruising Nights" car club and was highly involved with helping Lee with the Defiance Athletic Club Boxing and the Sherwood Pony League Baseball Team. She was her grandkids biggest cheerleader and loved camping and being outdoors. She will be greatly missed by her family and many good friends.
Dolene is survived by her children, Deb (Bob) Higley of Bryan, OH, Terry Keeterle of Gallatin, TN, Vickie (Gary) Crites of Ney, OH, and Michael (Dinah) Keeterle of Springfield, TN. She also leaves behind nine grandchildren, Heather Dale, Heath Higley, Hannah Venture, Nathan Keeterle, Carrie White, Kiley Timbrook, Shane Keeterle, Sarah Garwood and Seth Keeterle, and ten great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her former husband, Lee Keeterle, grandson, David Dale, and great-granddaughter, Izzy White.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 1, 2025, from 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, December 2nd at the funeral home with Rev. David Brobston officiating. Dolene will be laid to rest in Riverside Cemetery.
