Diana (Ordaz) Velez

Diana Velez, 72, of Defiance, Ohio, passed away peacefully on December 18th, 2025, at St. Charles Hospital in Oregon, Ohio.

Born in San Antonio, Texas on March 16, 1953. Diana graduated with her associates degree at Northwest State University. She spent over 30 years as a respected worker in the office supply business, working in accounts receivable for much of her career. She loved serving her family, church and her community with great love and compassion. Her favorite thing to do in her retired years was spend as much time as she could with her grandchildren. Diana will be remembered as a strong woman of faith who loved the Lord and cared for others more than herself. Her reputation for loving those in her church like her own children gained her the title "Momma Diana". Her love, strength, wisdom, and smile will be missed by so many. 

Diana is survived by her three sons, Zoe, John Paul and Gabe, her eight grandchildren, Luciana, Jackson, Mikah, Lillian, Macy, Raziel, Amira and Maravik and her two siblings Alma Jean Rivera and Mark Ordaz.

Friends and family are invited to Schaffer Funeral Home on 529 Jefferson Ave. in Defiance, Ohio on January 8, 2026 from 11:00 am -1:00 pm.  A Celebration of Life service will follow beginning at 1:00 pm.  

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
