Deloris "Dee" L. (Froelich) Hofacker

Deloris "Dee" Louise Hofacker, age 91 of Defiance, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2026 in her home with her family by her side.   
  
She was born in Defiance on November 21, 1934 to the late Walter and Daisy (Spencer) Froelich. Dee was a 1952 graduate of Defiance High School. On December 31, 1954 she married Luther Hofacker who preceded her in death on December 4, 2020. Dee worked as a sales clerk for 25 years at J.C. Penney until her retirement in 1998. She enjoyed crossword and word search puzzles, bowling and especially time spent with her family and friends.
  
Dee is survived by her loving daughters, Janice Pittenger and Nancy (Scott) Frederick, all of Defiance, three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. 
  
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Hofacker, her brothers, Edward, Walter Jr., Frank, Alfred, and Albert Froelich, and sisters, Mary Lloyd and Irene Relue.
  
Visitation will be held Thursday, April 9, 2026 from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home South, Lawson-Roessner Chapel (1753 South Clinton Street) in Defiance. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm at the funeral home with Hal DeTray officiating.  Dee will be laid to rest in Riverview Memory Gardens.
