DeAngelo M. Pearson, age 25 of Defiance, passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2025 at ProMedica Toledo Hospital.
He was born on September 27, 1999 to Devon Pearson and Angela Theis in Defiance, Ohio. DeAngelo was a 2018 graduate of Defiance High School and Four County Career Center and majored in Diesel Mechanics.
He was a member of First Church of God, Defiance Elks Lodge #147, and Defiance Area YMCA. He was a driver for several years for Jay Petroleum Co. DeAngelo was a diesel truck enthusiast and had also worked for Baker-Schindler of Defiance. He enjoyed collecting and smoking cigars, boating, jet skiing, and hanging out with his friends at the sandbar. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially going to breakfast. DeAngelo will be greatly missed by his family and many good friends.
DeAngelo is survived by his parents, Devon and Erin Pearson of Defiance and Angela Theis of Toledo, his son, Malik Pearson, brothers, Emilio (Elyse) Pearson and Romero Pearson, and his sister, Mya Pearson, all of Defiance. He also leaves behind his girlfriend Miranda Garcia of Defiance, grandparents, Christa Williams of Union City, MI, Veronica Pearson of Akron, OH, and Bruce (Sue) Sisco of Defiance, his stepfather, Joe Woodbury of Sherwood, Ohio, his aunts and uncles, Joshua (Erica) Williams of Paulding, Sarah (Jesse) Glass of Toledo, Melanie (Eric) Gerber of Defiance, Joseph (Angela) Sisco and Joshua Sisco, all of Defiance, and many other aunts, uncles, and cousins from the Akron area.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Pappa & Granny Pearson, his Auntie Marv, great-grandpa Angelo Capetillo, and great-grandma Grace Reynolds.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 7, 2025 from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 8th at First Church of God, with Pastor Larry Kennedy officiating. DeAngelo will be laid to rest in Riverside Cemetery.
