David Allen Leaman, age 70 of Defiance, passed away peacefully early Wednesday morning, September 28, 2022 at Ebeid Hospice in Sylvania, Ohio.
He was born on August 5, 1952 to the late Gerald "Grant" and Anna "Ann" (Lekka) Leaman in Paulding, Ohio. David was a 1970 graduate of Antwerp High School. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Air Force from 1975 to 1979. On December 26, 1971 he married Susan K. (Roehrig) Leaman, who survives.
David was a member of Defiance Eagles #372 and the NRA. He worked for Campbell's Soup Company in Napoleon for the past 42 years. In his leisure time he enjoyed collecting knives and coins, and he treasured his time spent with his children and grandchildren.
David will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Susan Leaman of Defiance, his children; Lonnie (Jenny) Leaman of Paulding, Lannette (Greg) Roehrig of Sherwood, Leslie (Scott) Good of Paulding, Lane Leaman of Defiance, and Landon (JoAnne) Leaman of Defiance. He also leaves behind 12 grandchildren, 1 great-grandson, and his sisters, Laura (Kevin) Woodcox of Cecil, and Bonnie (Steve) Hudson of Defiance.
He was preceded in death by his parents, paternal grandparents, Harry and Mary Leaman, and maternal grandparents, Alexander and Anna Lekka.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Schaffer Funeral Home was honored to assist the family with arrangements.
