David Paul Gomez

David Paul Gomez, age 60 of Bryan, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, June 19, 2025  at the University of Toledo Medical Center, surrounded by his loved ones.

He was born in Defiance, Ohio on February 8, 1965 to Concepcion R. and Margaret (Arellano) Gomez.

David graduated from Defiance High School in 1983, during which time he began working for McDonalds at the age of 16 years old. He spent 44 years at McDonalds, and was a general manager at east side McDonalds as well as Paulding, Bryan and Montpelier stores. David won the General Manager Award three times, being recognized nationwide. Not only was he a general manager, but he was a life coach and mentor to many, many young people over his time there. He showed exemplary leadership skills and helped develop future managers and many assistant general managers. David had a love for music, especially 80's music, the Beatles, and collecting vinyl. He will be sadly missed by his family and many good friends and colleagues.

David is survived by his siblings, Conchita (Francisco) Ramos Del Bosque of Defiance, Gloria Gomez of Defiance, George (Paula) Gomez of Tulsa, OK, Robert (Laura) Gomez of Defiance, Ruben (Alicia) Gomez of Smyrna, TN, Irene (Miguel) Lancon, Christine (Brent) Wallick, and Anthony Gomez, all of Defiance. He is also survived by his companion of many years, Jeff Boyd of Bryan, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Concepcion and Margaret Gomez; sister, Marie; nephews, Ben Gomez, Jamie Hernandez and Adam Joseph; aunts, Rose Adkins and Marie Bradford; grandfather, Gabino Arellano, and grandmother, Rose Arellano,

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Schaffer Funeral Home was honored to assist the family with arrangements.
