Darrell G. Thrasher

Darrell G. Thrasher, 89, of Defiance, passed away on Friday, September 27, 2024 at the Laurels of Defiance, Defiance, OH.  
  
He was born on July 3, 1935 to Lawrence and Eathel Thrasher in Paulding County, OH. On October 19, 1956 he married Miriam Donnell, who preceded him in death on March 9, 2010.
  
Darrell was a member of UAW Local 211, and had worked as a millwright at General Motors for 35 years retiring in 2000. He loved to Polka dance and listen to music of any kind. Family and friends meant the world to him, and his memory will be cherished by all that knew him.
  
Darrell is survived by his sister, Helen (Vic) Hartzell of Defiance, daughter-in-law, Judy Thrasher of Angola, IN, sister-in-law, Carol Ladd of Cloverdale, OH, grandchildren, Alissa, Erica, and David Thrasher. 
  
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son, Allen Thrasher, and a brother, Carl Thrasher.
  
Visitation will be held Monday, September 30, 2024, from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 pm at the funeral home, with Pastor Josh Hill officiating. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery.
  
Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.
